Alessandro Cozzi

  • Graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa in 2004

  • PhD in Equine Physiology in 2009 on the social behavior of the horse and the mechanisms of conflict management and reconciliation in this species (University of Messina and Pisa, 2009)

  • Master in Behavioral Medicine for Pets (University of Pisa, 2010)

  • Since 2009 he has worked at the Institute of Research in Semio-Chemistry and Applied Ethology (IRSEA) and since 2016 he is the CEO of IRSEA

  • In 2015, he graduated as a Specialist at the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioral Medicine subspecialty Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law (ECAWBM -AWSEL)

  • In 2017, elected Vice President of ECAWBM

  • Since May 2017, he has been the ECAWBM AWSEL Standard Residence Program Supervisor activated in IRSEA.

  • Invited professor for lectures on Animal Behavior and Physiology, Animal Welfare, Clinical Ethology and Chemical Communication at different Universities (University of Pisa, Italy; University of Barcelona, ​​Spain; University of Lisbon, Portugal; Faculty Qualittas, Brazil)

Manuel Mengoli

  • Graduated in Veterinary Medicine (University of Bologna)

  • Obtained a Master's Degree in Behavioral Veterinary Medicine (2007)

  • PhD in Equine Physiology (University of Pisa, 2012) on cognitive-emotional interaction in horses.

  •  

  • From 2009 to 2012 he administered the behavioral consultation service for pets at the Department of Physiological Sciences at the University of Pisa.

  • Since 2012, he works at IRSEA as a researcher and is the current coordinator of clinical trials.

  • Resident of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioral Medicine (ECAWBM)

  • Conducts behavioral consultations and conducts research on new emotional biomarkers in pets.

  • From 2015 he is a member as a scientific expert of the Scientific and Technical Committee of CANIDEA (National Confederation of Dog Associations that Help People), in France

  • Invited professor for lectures on Animal Behavior, Physiology, Clinical Ethology at different Universities in Europe and South America.

  • Author of scientific publications and speaker at conferences on mammalian physiology, clinical ethology and well-being in pets.

  • Graduation in Veterinary Medicine at UFRRJ in 1982.

  • Master's Degree in Clinical Pathology at UFRRJ in 1987. Doctorate in Clinical Medicine at USP in 1997.

  • Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine II at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at the Veterinary Institute of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro since 1987.

  • Professor of the Masters Course in Veterinary Medicine at UFRRJ, being responsible for the disciplines: Seminars in Veterinary Medicine and Small Animal Behavior Disorders.

  • Professor of the Specialization Course in Homeopathy for Veterinarians at Instituto Hahnemanniano do Brasil.

  • Founder and Responsible for Ophthalmology (SOFT) and Behavioral Therapy (SETECOMP) services at Hospital Veterinário da UFRRJ.

Mauro Lantzman

  • PhD in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (2004)

  • Member of the ethics committee of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo

  • Assistant Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo

  • Experience in Psychology, with an emphasis on Ethology, working mainly on the following themes: applied ethology, human-animal relationship, domestic animal, veterinary and animal welfare.

  • Graduated from the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioral Medicine (ECAWBM) in the sub-specialties Behavioral Medicine (BM) and Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law (AWSEL)

  • Founder and Scientific-Pedagogical Director of the Center for Animal Knowledge.

  • Invited Professor at Escola Superior Agrária de Elvas (Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre)

  • Invited professor at several other national and international Colleges and Universities.

  • Trainer and speaker in national and international courses, seminars, conferences and congresses.

  • Author, Co-author and Coordinator of several studies in Animal Behavior and Welfare.

  • Founding Member of the Portuguese Association for Therapy of Animal Behavior and Welfare (PsiAnimal).
